Main cabinet
The main cabinet under the aquarium consists of a metal structure in the form of a rectangular prism (cuboid). Its two sides are panelled and it has two sliding glass doors in the front, leaving the back and bottom open. On the top part is where the main tank rests.
The main cabinet contains the filter, the SUMP and the cooler, using with that all the available space.
A mobile base has been designed for this cabinet. Built in 10mm thick, transparent plexiglass, holes have been drilled on it to allow water and air through. This base rests on top of the metal structure, as well as on some legs that have been added to it. This base sticks out in the back of the cabinet, and can slide front and back. This allows:
- Extra surface, extending the available space through the back of the cabinet and over the metal structure, instead of being limited to placing stuff in the floor, in the space inside the metal structure.
- Extra room for ventilation and humidity:
- Between the cabinet’s base and the floor there are about 5cm. In case of small leaks, the water would flow through the holes to the floor, where it’s easier to clean it.
- The air extractor creates a vacuum inside the cabinet, causing the air to flow through all the holes in the base, uniformly distributing the air flow through the cabinet.
- Versatility, since the base can slide to move it to the front or the back of the cabinet, easing the access to the floor when needed.

Secondary cabinet
A secondary cabinet has been designed, aiming to store the aquarium electronics (main controller, peristaltic pumps, programable plugs…) as well as the additives that are pumped into the aquarium with the peristaltic pumps.
This cabinet can also store the cleaning accessories, the food, the chemical tests, etc. That way, all these elements are save from the humidity.
